You promised you would cut your hair

A series of intimate studies of the female body, memory, and transformation. The title alone—an unfinished promise—hovers between what is uttered and what is withheld. Hair becomes more than an element of appearance: it is emblem, archive, ritual.

Each work in the series confronts the body as both subject and mirror: gestures of combing, caress, or trimming echo moments of vulnerability and resistance. There is tenderness in the touch, but also a tension between what you do for love, what you do for yourself, and what remains undone.

By focusing on these small, corporeal moments, the series asks:

What weight does an uncut promise carry?

How does the body remember what the words have left behind?

When is transformation an act of letting go—and when is it an act of retention?

This series does not aim for dessert; it is about thresholds—between presence and absence, obedience and self-assertion, the seen and the hidden.
